8/2/2019 Dos Window Pops Up And Disappears
Possible Duplicate:
Visual Studio Console App - Prevent window from closing.
I'm starting to learn C++ on Windows and I'm trying a few different development environments:1. Netbeans with Cygwin compiler2. MS Visual Studio 2010
For either of them, when I write a very simple Hello World program, I build it and it's fine. But when I try to run the program, the command prompt window pops up really quick and then disappears right away.
This happens whether it's in Debug or Release config. Please help with this - I can't see my program output! :(
Thanks.
EDIT1:Thanks for the replies. This is my code:
I tried Ctrl+F5 for 'Start without Debugging' and that doesn't work. It still flashes the black console screen then disappears right away.
I also tried adding in std::cin.get(); and this works with Ctrl+F5, but isn't that a really.. inelegant workaround solution? I'd rather have my program in the final form.
The breakpoint works, but then I have to run with debugging and the console window flashes and disappears, but then it stays in the background. Any way to get the console to stay in the foreground so I can see program output right away? Seems like that's how it should work.
Any more ideas? Why wouldn't Ctrl+F5 work?

After you are done with your program, press user225312user225312
Ctrl + F5 ( Run without debugging ). This will prompt before closing the window and this is what you want.

I think your program just prints
Hello World and then exits. That's the reason the console closes immediately. You can run the executable from Command Prompt (Start Menu > Run and type cmd.exe).Otherwise, you can put std::cin.get() in your code so that program waits for user's input and hence the console window remains open until a key is pressed.

Your application is probably working. Make the last command in your console application wait for user input: e.g int i;
string i;cout<<'Hello';cin<<i;

There’s a really annoying issue in Office that’s been bugging a lot of users recently. The issue results in a command prompt window popping up every hour — it may not sound too annoying at first, but if you play a lot of games, it’ll surely annoy you. That’s because if you’re playing a game in full screen and this window pops up, the game will pause which is definitely going to be quite infuriating. Microsoft has already fixed the issue, and it’s currently available to those part of the Office Insider program’s Slow Ring. We believe the issue isn’t fixed for regular users as of yet, but it is possible Microsoft has already fixed the issue. If you’re, however, still having the issue, you can fix it by following the steps below:
That should fix the issue, preventing the background task from opening up a CMD window every hour.
So last week, I downloaded something that turned out to be to be pretty nasty and chalk full of malware. I immediately opened up Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro and started cleaning the gunk out, and ran 5-6 followup scans to be extra safe and thorough. I cleaned it up pretty good and eventually the software stopped detecting items. But on the same day after everything was cleaned up, I noticed that 3-4 times every hour, a command prompt window would open up just for a tenth of a second and disappear. I couldn't figure out why the hell it was happening, and then it dawned on me the other day to check event viewer. I noticed that event viewer was logging events for powershell, which I'm pretty sure shouldn't be happening, and the logs were concurrent with the date that I clogged my system with all that malware.
The powershell logs are occurring in a 10-step pattern. I will list them in the order that they occur: 1. Provider 'WSMan' is Started (I looked it up, and it's a cmdlet to connect to the WinRM service for a remote computer) 2. Provider 'Alias' is Started 3. Provider 'Environment' is Started 4. Provider 'FileSystem' is Started 5. Provider 'Function' is Started 6. Provider 'Registry' is Started 7. Provider 'Variable' is Started 8. Provider 'Certificate' is Started 9. Engine state is changed from None to Available 10. Engine state is changed from Available to Stopped And that's the pattern the logs are repeating in. Now I could be entirely wrong about these logs, I have no idea what any of those commands represent or do, but it definitely looks suspicious to me. Can anyone shed some light for me?

Hey guys I'm having a big problem and googling hasn't yielded any results that fixed this for me.
Basically a few times a day a random command prompt window pops up and immediately disappears again. Now i wouldn't mind that too much if i was watching a movie or something, but i play games a lot and these events drag me out of the game if I'm playing in fullscreen mode or losing control for a short time when in windowed Borderless.
Pop Up Window
I have tried checking the Task Scheduler for activity but nothing showed up and i've tried to run
tfc /scannow
as advised by Windows support but the problem persists. I am positive it can't be malware since i don't even remember downloading something within the last months and it only started happening a few days ago.
Can anyone help me out with this?
